Cafe Sushi Chicago

A Couple of Fridays ago, I went with a few friends to a sushi place in Old Town, called Cafe Sushi.
Cafe Sushi was recomended by a friend from one of my design classes at SAIC, and I must say, "it didn't disappoint". Cafe Sushi is off the Red line in Chicago's Old Town, hop on at Madison and head to Clark& Division walk on block west on Division to LaSalle Blvd take a right walk 2 blocks to Gothe St, turn left crossing the street, go another block or so and make a left at Wells and Cafe sushi is about 1/3 a block down on the corner of Wells and Evergreen Ave. The restaurant was simple and nice, the strange blue of the neon mood lighting was a little strange as well at the conflicting decor, the bathroom was distinctly classic with a little bit of Tuscany running throughand the odd placement of an atrocious mirror and a water feature made it a little difficult to get in and out of our area of the dining room it was over all a good experiance. The service was a bit slow when it came to the entree's because of the weekend traffic but besides that, our waitress {the girl who suggested we come} was super attentive, friendly and nice.
I liked the Sushi, it was fresh and quite flavorful I started with an appatizer of Edamame and the ordered simple Alaskan Maki (6) Salmon with avocado. and then to mix it up a little I tried the Sweet Potato Tempura Maki (6) Sweet potato tempura with avocado, cucumber. I was pleased with the old standby and impressed by the new. the Sweet Potato Roll was full of many different tastes and textures and the crunch of the Sweet Potato was a perfect complement to the smoothness of the avacado. The evening was excactly what I needed, mid-terms were a killer. The night was cold, but the company and the food were great!
